What a Stupid CONTEST!!!

You know, it’s days like today that make you wonder what the heck you were thinking.

Now, I sent our Monday newsletter out, and just re-read it in my inbox. Ok, who says you can’t be on YOUR OWN list? Got any better way of catching your own stupidity?

When I re-read my own email, I “says to myself… SELF… what kind of CONTEST is THAT? What you have created isn’t a CONTEST, it’s a DRAWING. There IS a difference you know. Best brush up on your vocabulary. Oh, and by the way, WHO is schooling your kids?”

Ok, so in light of my further consideration… let’s make it a REAL contest and not a drawing! Matter of fact, why should there be any need to purchase anything when you hold a contest?

Not only that, how come I didn’t separate out the 10 WP blog templates I just made as a separate purchase, instead of bundling it with another product?

Because I was LAZY, and had a STUPID moment. You’ll have those now and then! Hindsight and all that happy jazz, ya know. AFTER the email was already sent.

Well, it wouldn’t be my FIRST stupid moment, and it definitely won’t be the LAST - so let me come up with something a bit BETTER for a contest. I would still like to give away the site I created at www.last-minute-valentines-gifts.com because it’s a great keword. Check it out:

Yes, that’s searches PER DAY! Now imagine being on the front page of google for that keyword. Imagine having your own product on there (yes I have one that needs to be added to the site, just haven’t got that far) not to mention some adsense, some Kontera, some Amazon, any affiliate links you want in there, clickbank, you name it. Here is your current competition:

IF YOU WIN THIS SITE - I will help you load the site with your own links, tell you how to do what you need to do, and help you get yourself ranked on the first page of google (at least I’ll do my BEST at that) by Feb. 2nd. YOU must be able to put the work into the site to get it to rank, and also to put your own monetization on it - which could take several hours over the weekend, and on into next Monday. I would like to see you ranked well (first page of Google) by Monday, and would be willing to help you do that.

Now, this is a super keyword, but it IS seasonal. My goal here is to give you a site you can work with, let you work with it - and see how far you can get. Even if you make NOTHING, nadda - zip - you will still be about $100.00 bucks ahead of the game. Think about it.

• Domain name - 10 bucks
• Custom Wordpress template - at least 50 bucks.
• Loaded with content already - with each keyword being searched out to make sure it’s good before adding it to the site - 5 blog posts (Original PLR with minor rewrites that passed copyscape with no dupes when I created the site) - now has a couple but no biggie… - worth 40 bucks, don’t you think?
• Hosted for 2 months, there’s another 20 bucks (unless you have a WHM account like I do)
• SEO and other WP scripts installed already, with tags, SEO filled out, etc - worth at least another 20.

You are totally ready to go. All you need to do is add monetization to the site, put up a few articles, and maybe do some forum posting. Believe me, if you can’t make at least a FEW bucks from this site in the next 2-3 weeks, there is something seriously WRONG!!!

I’ll hand it all over to you, push the domain name over into your name and HELP YOU MYSELF to get it ranked and monetized before Groundhog Day on Feb 2.

Now THAT is a contest. Because if you can’t explain to me why you would like this website, why you think you would be the best pick to win it, and that you will actually have the “gumption” to do something WITH the site THIS WEEKEND to make it work for you…

Then maybe you shouldn’t participate. This is something that I know every one of you can do. All of you can write well enough to enter. No need for fancy stuff, no need for a purchase, this is NOT a DRAWING - Michelle - it’s a CONTEST.

Apologies for my previous stupidity, but hang around me long enough and you’ll see me make myself look stupid on more than a FEW occasions.

With all that said - let’s get to it! I might even spread this around in a few forums and whatnot to get the ball rolling. Why not? It should be FUN! Have an adventure here… try something NEW. Let’s see if I can help someone who hasn’t made a dime yet - to make a few bucks in the next 2-3 weeks!

I’ll still go with the Thursday night at 6pm deadline. All comments will have to be entered in by then, because we’ll have to leave the house at about 6:30 pm. I’ll post the winner before we leave, then will hand over the website and give instructions on what to do with it as soon as I get home (after 9pm).
